Kathy Hochul is now the 57th Governor of New York. Yesterday she had her swearing in ceremony and her inaugural address. She talks about how she intends to combate covid, bring kids and staff back safely to schools and the distribution of the ERAP money. Getting a group of people together to make sure every tenant knows about the program and is aware of ERAP is her main priority too. Governor Hochul wants New Yorkers to have faith in their governor once again. Hochul also mentioned that she will mandate mask wearing for anyone going inside the schools and also that faculty and staff be vaccinated. Testing for Covid is going to be more available and convenient. In other news, on August 23 Cuomo pre-recorded his farewell address. He mentioned that Eric Adams would be the next mayor of New York city, in hopes of insulting and putting an end to the feud with Mayor Bill de Blasio. He started off the speech by saying how misleading the allegations against him were and how there was no proof to back it up but that the truth would come out eventually. He went on to talk about some of his accomplishments and touched on topics that he thought needed immediate attention.
Congrats Gov. Kathy Hochul
